Río Secreto it´s a journey through a glass museum of formations that tell the geological history of our planet, it´s without a doubt, a life-transforming experience. 
It´s the longest semi-flooded cave in the Yucatan Peninsula, 90 hectares of land of which by our conservation programs, we use only 10% for tourism purposes. For your safety, we only manage small groups. 

STEP BY STEP half-day tour:

1.- arrival at the reception and Service área of Rio Secreto.
2.- Welcome Video.
3.- Transportation to the Río Secreto reserve (approximately 15 minutes).
4.- Arriving at the reserve, your guide will give safety measures and equipment to the visitors.
5.- Before enter the Mayan underworld, the visitors will follow a path inside the natural reserve where they will receive a welcoming Mayan ceremony.
6.- The visitor will walk and swim through A natural crystal gallery through a route of a maximum of 1km for approximately 1 and a half hours.

  • Baby sitter, available under reservation with additional cost
  • Maximum weight recommendable 120kg / 250lb.
  • Cameras and video cameras are not allowed inside the underground river
  • Tour not recommended for people with severe physical or motor disability, Cardiacissue, pregnant women, and people under the influence of alcohol or drug. 
  • Avoid the use of chemicals products (Sunblock, repellents, excessive makeup, etc.) inside the underground river.

Cancellation Policy:
If you do not show up and cancel the same day of the Service, 35% of the price to the public per passenger will be charged if a supporting doctor prescription is not presented.
Rio Secreto Plus
Río Secreto Nature Reserve has evolved by adding on to its great adventure with Río Secreto Plus, a unique experience of connection and adventure with Nature. You will experience a journey, where you will find impressive geological formations that tell the history of our planet, and you will enjoy trails that transport you to Xibalbá (the Mayan underworld).

 Also, you will tour our Dry Route, and upon reaching the Salón de la Paz (“Room of Peace”) admire a light and sound show in a natural setting; an experience that will take you back in time to the very creation and evolution of the Universe.

Recommendations:
In Jungle Camp they will be able to have some lunch. The guide will ask them to put on the wetsuit, life jacket, and water shoes.
After a 2 hour swim in a semi flooded cave (time depends on adventurers), they’ll come back to Jungle Camp to change and prepare to go back to Base Camp, where they will enjoy a regional buffet.
Finally, they’ll return to the reception to be transferred to the hotel, in the provided transportation or their own.
