Ek Balam - Cenote & Valladolid

Riviera Maya

EK BALAM dates back over a thousand years and was one of the main capitals of the Mayan world. Its main ruler, Ukit Kan Lek Tok, gave it its splendor by commissioning buildings with murals and facades with impressive details that still endure today, such as those of his tomb in the main building. Enjoy the magnificent view from the top of its main building and live a unique experience.

CULTURAL STOP & BUFFET MEAL: After visiting the archaeological site, we make a cultural stop where you will admire handcrafted stone art and watch the artisan at work. You will taste handmade corn tortillas prepared by Maya women, sample Xtabentún, a traditional regional drink, and receive a blessing from a Maya shaman. You will also enjoy a delicious buffet featuring a wide variety of regional Mexican dishes in true Yucatán style.

SWIMMING IN A CENOTE: To end this incredible adventure, enjoy a refreshing swim in an ancient cenote. These cenotes were and continue to be vital water sources for local communities.

VALLADOLID CITY: One of the highlights of the tour is the beautiful colonial city of Valladolid. The main park is a perfect place to relax and enjoy traditional sweets, ice cream, and many local treats from this charming city.
